LONGMEADOW - Gerald Thomas Eady, 92, of Longmeadow, was Called Safely Home on Friday, September 25, 2026. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Detroit, MI on March 31, 1934, the beloved son of the late Leslie J. and Ella M. (Tenant) Eady. He was raised and educated in Royal Oak and had lived in Wilbraham and Hampden, MA before moving to Longmeadow. He served his country in the United States Army. He furthered his education and received a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Detroit and a Master's Degree in Finance from the University of Indiana. He was employed as a Comptroller at American Optical, which later became 3M, in Southbridge, MA. He was a member of the Wilbraham Council 10195 Knights of Columbus in Wilbraham, MA. During his leisure time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend, Josephine V. (Marion) Eady who was Called Home on September 10, 2017. He leaves his four loving children, Lynn M. Doherty and Jerry Doherty of Toms River, NJ, Sean J. Eady and his wife, Lorraine, of New York, Patrick T. Eady and his companion, Celinda Woo, of Longmeadow and Victoria A. Flynn and her husband, Brian, of Morristown, NJ: his nine cherished grandchildren, Kassey Eady and her husband, Joseph LaFleur, Elliott Eady and his wife, Erika, Ethan Eady, Sophie Eady, Audrey Eady, Claire Eady, Donovan Eady, Ryan Doherty and Riley Flynn; his six cherished great grandchildren, Hunter LaFleur, Harper LaFleur, Zoey Eady, Emerson Eady, Cashton Eady and Thomas Eady; his dear sister in law, Judy Dugger and her husband, Rich, of Romeo, MI; and his many dear extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his cherished great granddaughter, Saylor Paige Eady. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a Committal Service with United States Army Military Honors on Friday, October 16, 2026 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
