Alirio Mendes De Barros (88) of Brockton passed away on September 27, 2026, at Boston Medical Center-South. He was the beloved husband of Maria V. DeAndrade.
Alirio was born in São Filipe, Fogo, Cabo Verde, the son of the late Joao De Barros and Ernestina Mendes. He worked for many years as a bartender in the restaurant industry. Alirio enjoyed watching sports, drinking his red wine, partying, and, most of all, socializing and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his loving wife, Maria, Alirio is survived by his three sons, Joao Barros, Gilberto Andrade Mendes, and Alirio Andrade Mendes Barros; two daughters, Elizabeth Andrade Mendes and Alice Andrade Mendes De Barros; nine grandchildren, Lara, Kiara, Lucas, Rolando, Gilberto, Filzberto, Danny, Ricardo, and Tony; and two great-grandchildren, Mia and Enzo.
Viewing will be held in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street, Brockton, on Wednesday, September 30th, from 5:00–8:00 PM.
Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, October 1st, at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery, 88 N. Pearl Street, Brockton.
