Timothy Francis Riley, 71, of Pembroke, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at his home on September 11, 2026. He was a cherished husband, father, son, brother, and friend, and his presence will be deeply missed.
Tim was born in Boston to Fred and Eleanor (nee Nimblett) Riley and grew up in Winthrop, Mass. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After living in southern California for a time, he returned to Massachusetts where he met his wife and started a family on the south shore. Tim was a lifelong supporter of Boston sports and an avid space enthusiast, having met many of the heroes of early NASA missions, such as Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Gene Kranz. He found joy in coaching his daughters' youth basketball teams and had a massive sense of adventure, always ready with a quick wit and a hearty laugh, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him, particularly at Boston Children’s Hospital, where he retired from his telecommunications career after 17 years
in 2025.
Tim is survived by his adored daughters, Ellie, Lucy, and Franny Riley; and his treasured wife of 38 years, Jody Riley. He also leaves behind his beloved niece Meredith Walker of Texas and his cherished stepmother Rita Riley of Quincy. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and his brothers, James Nimblett of Winthrop and Kevin Riley of Kansas.
The Riley family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at BILH Plymouth and the caretakers at Cranberry Hospice & Palliative Care for their compassionate support during Timothy’s final days.
