Eleanor (Barao) Gracie, 77, of New Bedford died Monday September 25, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of Frank Gracie, Jr.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Alves and Rosella (Connors) Barao, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
Mrs. Gracie was formerly employed as a legal secretary for Lipman & Lipman for 43 years.
She was a graduate of New Bedford High School and Bryant College.
Survivors include her husband; a sister, Dorothy Pedro of New Bedford; and six nieces and nephews, Susan Silva, Kenneth Pedro, Russell Gracie Jr., Kathy Gracie, Melissa Francis and Eric Francis.
She was the mother of the late David Paul Gracie and Paul Michael Gracie, and sister of the late Alvaro Barao.
