Thomas F. Chase, 78, of Derry, NH, died Wednesday, September 22, 2026, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA, following injuries sustained in a fall. Tom was born on May 31, 1948, in Derry, NH, a son of the late Clarence and Doris Chase. He graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 1966.
Tom was employed for 30 years at Borden Chemical in North Andover, MA. He later worked as the Paint Manager at Benson’s Lumber and Hardware in Derry, NH, from which he retired.
Tom was dedicated to his community and especially enjoyed volunteering with local youth sports. He volunteered with the Derry Little League for 25 years and the Derry Babe Ruth League for 17 years.
He is survived by his two sons, Thomas F. Chase, Jr., and his wife, Karen, of Goffstown, NH, and James S. Chase and his wife, Lisa, of Salem, NH; two grandsons, Luke Chase of Goffstown and Gavin Chase of Salem; his brother, George Chase of Rumney, NH; sisters-in-law Sally (Gray) Lovell and Cynthia (Joyce) Gray; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 39 years, Janice I. (Gray) Chase, in 2005; his brothers, Stephen Chase and Wayne Chase; his brothers-in-law, James Gray, Samuel Gray, Kenneth Lovell, Paul Sullivan, and Albert Aubin and sisters-in-law, Mary (Aubin) Gray and Nancy (Gray) Sullivan and Madelyn Gray.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH.
Funeral services will be held privately, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry, NH.
