Obituary

Dagmar (Bistrup) Coquillette, 90, of Lexington, MA died September 23, 2006 at Brookhaven at Lexington.
A native of Waltham, Massachusetts, she graduated with a degree in economics from Radcliffe College as a member of the class of 1939. She married Robert M. Coquillette in 1940. Before the war the couple lived in Cincinnati, Ohio and on Staten Island, New York where her husband was employed by Procter & Gamble and where she worked as a volunteer with the Red Cross.
After the war the couple settled in Lexington, Massachusetts. Mrs. Coquillette was engaged in community affairs serving the Hancock Congregational Church, her Radcliffe class and the Cub Scouts. Following a move to Shaker Heights, Ohio, the Coquillettes established residence in Plandome, Long Island, New York where she was active not only in church work, but also as a driver for Meals on Wheels and for 8 years as a volunteer at the Viscardi School for Severely Handicapped Children in Albertson, Long Island.
Upon her husband's retirement in 1983, they moved to Mattapoisett, Massachusetts where she was active in the Mattapoisett Congregational Church, the Mattapoisett Historical Society and other community endeavors including 8 years as a volunteer at the soup kitchen run by Market Ministries of New Bedford. She continued to be active as a Radcliffe alumna serving on the class committee of her Radcliffe class and in the Alumna Association. In recent years the Coquillettes have been residents of Brookhaven at Lexington.
Mrs. Coquillette is survived by her husband; two sons, Daniel R. Coquillette, and his wife Judith, of Cambridge, MA and William H. Coquillette, and his wife Janet, of Cleveland Heights, OH; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 4th at 3 PM in the Mattapoisett Congregational Church followed by a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Mattapoisett Congregational Church, P.O. Box 284, Mattapoisett, MA 02739.
