Nathan B. Flood, 72, of Mattapoisett died September 21, 2006, at St. Luke's Hospital unexpectedly.
He was the husband of Marilyn J. (Jester) Flood.
Born in Brockton, the son of the late Harold and Dorothea (Benson) Flood, he was raised in Bridgewater and lived in Connecticut before moving to Mattapoisett in 1968.
Nate was a graduate of Bridgewater High School, the Stockbridge School of Agriculture, U. Mass, Amherst, and received his MS from the University of Maine, Orono.
He was employed by IBEC in CT, the USDA and was retired from the MA Water Resource Authority, Boston.
He was a member of the Alpha Zeta fraternity, the First Unitarian Church, New Bedford, the Mattapoisett Republican Comm., the U.S. Power Squadron, the Mattapoisett Historical Museum, the Coalition for Buzzards Bay, the Old Dartmouth Whaling Museum, the Zeiterion Theater and the Mattapoisett Land Trust.
Nate enjoyed his family, friends, gardening, traveling and steam and model trains.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenneth S. Flood, and his partner Alan Schmidt, of CA; a brother, H. Willliam Flood, and his wife Sandy, of Middleboro; two sisters, Judith Siegfried, and her husband Rob, of WI and Merrilee Phinney, and her companion Martin Vojtko, of Raynham; two brothers-in-law, Richard Phinney of Carver and Edward Jester of FL; an uncle, Robert Flood of Whitman; his dear family friends, Lisa Ayotte and Michael Rivard, both of Mattapoisett. He leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nephews.
He was the father of the late Richard A. Flood.
His funeral services will be private.
