BELMONT ---- Ronald Allen Pelletier, known to everyone as Al, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in Concord, NH, at the age of 82 surrounded by family.
Born on April 4, 1944, in Fort Kent, Maine, Al grew up in Maine before his family moved to Connecticut, where he graduated from Bristol Eastern High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Al spent much of his life in Terryville, CT, with his beloved wife Cindy, to whom he was married for 43 years. A skilled machinist by trade, he built a long and respected career, spending many years at Napco and at Frank J. Coscina Associates, where he served as plant supervisor. He later worked at Yarde Metals in Southington, CT, well into his late seventies. True to form, retirement never quite suited Al — after moving to New Hampshire after “retiring” from Yarde, he took over managing Black Dog Car Wash in Belmont, working right alongside his son.
Al was kind, hardworking, and endlessly generous — the kind of man who would do anything for his family. He loved a good joke, a good laugh, and a great time, and he loved his family more than anything. Humble and modest by nature, Al remained strong, active, and young at heart right up until his final moments. Those who knew him often said they hoped that when they reached his age, they’d be half as sharp and as strong as he was — he was, in every sense, remarkable.
Al treasured time at Lake Winnipesaukee, and cherished quiet moments at home with Cindy and their three dogs, Rosie, Angel, and Sadie. He never let age slow him down — cliff jumping in Aruba on his 80th birthday and ziplining through Costa Rica at 82. He’s a special guy who could stand all night at a country concert with people half (or a quarter) of his age and wake up the next morning and have all the energy to play with the kids. He loved watching sports, especially cheering on his grandchildren, and rarely missed a Red Sox or Patriots game.
Al is survived by his wife, Cindy (nee Blanchette); his children, Michael (Heather), Jodie (EJ), Nikki, and Ricky (Brittany); his grandchildren, Cassie, Carter, Jordan, Mollie, Colin, Adalyn, and Macie; his siblings, James Pelletier, Celine Spooner, and Dorene Sundgren; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Jeffrey and Gerald Pelletier, and his parents, Wilfred and Irene Pelletier.
At Al’s request, a small gathering will be held; there are no formal services planned.
