Robin H. Bertrand, 72, of Roswell, Georgia, passed away on July 27, 2026.
Born on March 10, 1954, in New Jersey, Robin was the beloved daughter of Marion and Bill Hamer. She was a devoted sister to Nancy Vandergrift Capie and Bill Hamer, maintaining close family ties throughout her life.
Robin attended high school in both Jonesboro, Georgia and Slidell, Louisiana, and was known for nurturing friendships that lasted a lifetime. Whether through a phone call, a gathering, or a simple check-in, she had a gift for staying connected and making people feel valued.
A dedicated professional, Robin spent her entire career helping others achieve their financial and homeownership goals. She began her banking career as a teller at Roswell Bank, where her hard work, determination, and natural ability to connect with people quickly earned her promotions to Personal Banker and later Branch Manager. Throughout her career, she served customers at Roswell Bank, First Union, Northside Bank, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo.
In the late 1990s, Robin transitioned into the mortgage industry, first as a loan originator and later as a mortgage broker. She became known for her ability to simplify the home-buying process, helping countless families navigate what could often feel overwhelming. Her clients valued not only her expertise but also her patience, honesty, and genuine desire to help them succeed.
Above all else, Robin's greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother to her daughter, Kimber, and a doting grandmother to PJ, Essie, and Stokes. She treasured every opportunity to spend time with them and never missed a chance to celebrate their accomplishments, big or small.
Robin was also known for her love of plants and her remarkable green thumb. She found joy in nurturing plants and took pride in helping beautiful things grow. She shared that same nurturing spirit with the people in her life, always offering encouragement, support, and a welcoming place to gather.
Robin was also incredibly creative and rarely sat still for long. She loved crafting and took great joy in making things for others. Whether she was painting, designing beautiful wreaths, creating personalized hand towels, or making themed t-shirts on her Cricut, Robin poured her heart into every project. Friends and family often benefited from her latest creations, each one thoughtfully made and uniquely personal. Her creativity was another way she showed her love, and many will continue to cherish the pieces she made for them over the years.
A devoted Georgia Bulldogs fan, Robin loved fall Saturdays spent cheering on the Dawgs, surrounded by friends, neighbors, and family. Her game-day gatherings became treasured traditions filled with food, laughter, and spirited conversation. Her home was always open, and everyone who entered felt welcomed.
Robin will be remembered for her kindness, loyalty, work ethic, sense of humor, and the way she made others feel like family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and service that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Robin is survived by her daughter, Kimber Ford (Philip); her grandchildren, PJ, Essie, and Stokes; her sister, Nancy Vandergrift Capie; her brother, Bill Hamer; and numerous extended family members and dear friends.
