Patricia Ann (Joyce) Callahan passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Beth Isreal Hospital in Boston on September 3, 2026. Loving wife of 36 years, of the late John James Callahan. Devoted mother of William (Billy) and Jaclyn Callahan both of Milton, and the late Kathleen Ann Callahan. Loving “Nene” to her five grandchildren DJ, Colin, Callie, Hailey and Madison Tibets. Cherished daughter of the late Thomas and Pauline (Kennedy) Joyce. Dear oldest sibling of Paula Daly & her husband, Daniel, of Canton, Linda Hughes & her husband, Gerald, William Joyce & his wife, Debra, all of East Bridgewater, Thomas Joyce & his wife, Anne of Bourne, Patrick Joyce & his wife, Kerry of Braintree and Stephen Joyce & his wife, Julie of Milton. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Patty graduated from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in December 1976. She was a dedicated Pharmacist for over 35 years, at Boston City Hospital, VA Hospital in Jamaica Plain, Cambridge City Hospital & retired from Children’s Hospital in Boston in 2012. She also served on the Milton Board of Health for many years.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours at 187 Dorchester St South Boston, MA on Friday September 11th from 4-7pm, followed by a mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 12th at St Mary's on the Hill 29 St Marys Rd, Milton, MA 02186 at 11:30AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Patty’s memory to the ARDS Alliance, in hopes of raising awareness and supporting research for Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. ARDS is a life-threatening condition that affects thousands of families, yet remains unfamiliar to many. We hope that honoring Patty in this way will help bring greater awareness, understanding, and support to others affected by ARDS. Donations can be made through ARDS Alliance at ARDS.org
