BURKE, Steven E. Retired Dedham Firefighter and lifelong resident of Dedham, passed away September 5, 2026. Beloved son of the late Francis E. and Arlene (Hartian) Burke. Brother of Robert Burke of Mansfield. Uncle of Nicholas, Lauren, and David.
Firefighter Burke served the Dedham community for over 32 years, spending most of his time out of East Dedham on Engine 3. His long, illustrious career included a Firefighter of the Year Award and a Chief Henry J Harrigan Medal of Honor (Dedham Fire Department’s highest award to bestow).
Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home 456 High St. Dedham on Tuesday, September 15th from 4-7pm. Interment private.
