Obituary

Sandra L. Cash, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2026, after a long battle with heart disease.

Born in Acushnet, MA, on July 30, 1939, Sandra was the daughter of Manuel and Frederica (Kielbasa) Costa. She graduated from New Bedford High School in 1957 and spent many years in New Bedford before moving to Derry, New Hampshire, where she raised her family. She earned her degree in Accounting from Franklin Pierce College in 1994.

Sandy built a long and dedicated career as an accountant, spending the majority of her professional life at Pandora Industries, where her sharp mind and steady work ethic made her an essential part of the company. She later continued her bookkeeping work at Manchester Knitted Fashions before retiring from Granite State Independent Living, closing her career with the same reliability and no-nonsense approach she was known for throughout her life.

A woman of many interests, Sandy was an avid reader and lifelong crafter—knitting socks, creating handmade gifts, and in later years discovering a love for drawing and even Legos. She was famous among family and friends for her signature lemon cake. Some of her happiest memories in her later years were made at the lake house, enjoying iced coffee and the simple joys of time spent together. Sandy was known for her quick wit and sharp tongue, delivered with the kind of honesty and humor that made her unforgettable.

She was the devoted wife of James Cash, who passed away in 2014. They shared 54 years of marriage.

She is survived by her three daughters: Kathy Greenleaf and her husband, Bill, of Epsom, NH; Trish Cash and her partner, Jackie McKenna, of Beverly, MA; and Kim Cotyk and her husband, Mike, of Canton, OH. She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Jill, Jon, AJ, and Charlie—and two great-grandsons, Owen and Finn.

She was predeceased by her sister, Joyce Dickinson-Allain.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Forest Hill Cemetery in East Derry, NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandy’s memory may be made to the New Hampshire Food Bank, 700 East Industrial Drive, Manchester, NH, 03109 .
