Frank L. Cassettari passed away peacefully at the Winchester Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Friday, September 4th. He was 97. Raised in Somerville, Frank was the son of the late Paolo and Lidia (Badiali) Cassettari.
A Medford resident for nearly 60 years, Frank served with the Army National Guard in the 1950’s He worked for several years casting statues. He enjoyed a long career with the MBTA as a driver and then later in administration. He was a dedicated family man who was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed line dancing with his wife Joan, who passed away in 2007. He loved to play cards with his friends at the Dante Club and looked forward to occasional trips to the casino.
The beloved husband of the late Joan (McGaffigan) who passed away in 2007, Frank was the dear long-time fiancé of Charlotte Lascombe. He was the devoted father of Debra Fiore and her husband James, Frank Cassettari, Sandra Pfennighaus and her husband Dave, Michael Cassettari and his wife Belinda, and Paul Cassettari. He was a loving grandfather to James, Christina, Joseph, Ariana, Rachelle, Taryn, and Alicia. He was a loving great-grandfather to Brandon, Aaron, Sophia, Madelyn, Enoch, Atticus, Harrison, Oscar, Vera, Penelope and Annabelle.
Funeral services and burial will be held privately.
