In Loving Memory of Nolberto E. Trejo

Nolberto E. Trejo, age 73, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on August 28, 2026, just weeks before his 74th birthday. Born on September 17, 1952, in Guerrero, Mexico, and raised in Uruapan, Michoacan, he was the son of Maria Espino and Tayde Trejo.
As one of eight children, he was raised alongside four brothers and three sisters, an upbringing that instilled in him a fierce devotion to family that lasted a lifetime.
As a young man, Nolberto moved to Chicago in search of a better life. It was in Chicago that he met Antonia Ochoa, the love of his life. A deeply loving and devoted husband, Nolberto spent 48 years always by his beloved wife Antonia’s side. The decades of partnership and the family they proudly raised together stand as a beautiful testament to his lifelong devotion.
Nolberto built a life defined by hard work, dedication to his family, friendship, and an unmistakable love for life. He embraced life fully and lived each moment with a smile. He was caring and always quick to forgive and move on. He had a rare gift for making friends wherever he went, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
For 25 years, Nolberto worked as a railroad trackman with Metra, dedicating himself to the career he took great pride in. He worked hard to always provide for the family he loved.
Nolberto’s greatest pride was his family. He was the loving father of his four surviving daughters: Eva Trejo, Leticia Trejo (Daniel Orozco), Alicia Trejo (Michael Krzysztofiak), and Patricia Trejo. He deeply loved and respected his daughters and showed his love not only through his words, but through his actions, sacrifices, and the countless ways he supported and cared for his family.
One of his greatest joys was being a grandfather. He cherished every moment with his nine grandchildren: Angel Resendiz, Dulce Resendiz, Mia Santos, Ethan Krzysztofiak, Ruby Leticia Orozco, Rosaly Alicia Orozco, Roberto Daniel Orozco, Ricardo Miguel Orozco, and Reyna Selena Orozco. His heart grew even fuller with the arrival of his great-grandson, Sebastian Resendiz, a new branch of the family tree that he nurtured with love.
To those closest to him, Nolberto was far more than a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was their rock and foundation. His passing leaves an immeasurable absence in the lives of those who loved him, but it also leaves behind something that can never be taken away–a lifetime of love, laughter, friendship, sacrifice, and memories.
Nolberto’s legacy and spirit lives on through his beloved wife, his daughters, his grandchildren, his great-grandson, and the many family members and friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and joyful presence. The love he gave so freely throughout his life will remain with his family forever, and his spirit will forever live through his family and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, September 7, 2026 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Ocwieja-Robles Funeral Home, 4256 S Mozart.

Nolberto E. Trejo, de 73 años, de Chicago, Illinois, falleció el 28 de agosto de 2026, pocas semanas antes de cumplir 74 años. Nació el 17 de septiembre de 1952 en Guerrero, México, y creció en Uruapan, Michoacán. Era hijo de Maria Espino y Tayde Trejo.
Como uno de ocho hijos, creció junto a cuatro hermanos y tres hermanas. Su infancia le enseñó el valor de la familia, algo que mantuvo toda su vida.
Cuando era joven, Nolberto se mudó a Chicago buscando una vida mejor. En Chicago conoció a Antonia Ochoa, el amor de su vida. Nolberto fue un esposo muy cariñoso y dedicado, y pasó 48 años siempre al lado de su esposa Antonia. Los años que compartieron y la familia que formaron juntos son un hermoso ejemplo de su amor y compromiso.
Nolberto vivió una vida llena de trabajo duro, dedicación a su familia, amistad y un gran amor por la vida. Siempre vivía con una sonrisa. Era amable y siempre dispuesto a perdonar. Tenía un don especial para hacer amigos dondequiera que iba, dejando una impresión positiva en todos los que lo conocieron.
Durante 25 años, Nolberto trabajó como trabajador de vías en Metra. Se dedicó con orgullo a su trabajo y siempre hizo todo lo posible para apoyar a su familia.

Amaba profundamente a sus hijas y lo demostraba con sus palabras, sus acciones, sus sacrificios y todas las maneras en que cuidaba y apoyaba a su familia.
Ser abuelo fue una de sus mayores alegrías. Disfrutaba cada momento con sus nueve nietos: Angel Resendiz, Dulce Resendiz, Mia Santos, Ethan Krzysztofiak, Ruby Leticia Orozco, Rosaly Alicia Orozco, Roberto Daniel Orozco, Ricardo Miguel Orozco y Reyna Selena Orozco. Su corazón se llenó aún más con la llegada de su bisnieto, Sebastian Resendiz, una nueva rama del árbol familiar que él cuidó con amor.
Para su familia, Nolberto fue mucho más que esposo, padre, abuelo y bisabuelo. Fue su base y su fortaleza. Su partida deja un vacío enorme, pero también deja una vida llena de amor, risas, amistad, sacrificio y recuerdos que nunca se perderán.
El legado y espíritu de Nolberto viven en su esposa, sus hijas, sus nietos, su bisnieto y en todos los familiares y amigos que fueron tocados por su bondad y alegría. El amor que dio durante su vida permanecerá para siempre en su familia, y su espíritu seguirá vivo en todos ellos.
