Robert Carl “Bob” Gizzi, 74, of Billerica, passed away peacefully at home on August 29, 2026. He was the beloved husband of the late Denise Anne (Poverchuk) Gizzi, with whom he had just celebrated 49 years of marriage.
Bob was born in Melrose, on August 9, 1952, the son of the late Anthony Joseph and Dorothy Eleanor (Cecchini) Gizzi. He was raised and educated in Tewksbury and was a graduate of Tewksbury Memorial High School. He later moved to Billerica in his 20s, where he built a career as a Master Carpenter. He took great pride in his work and continued to further his education and skills throughout his career.
In his younger years, Bob was a talented musician and singer. He was the drummer and a singer in a band known as “The Golden Bananas,” creating memories and entertaining those around him with his love of music. Bob never lost his love of singing and dancing and could often be found doing both whenever the opportunity arose.
He was also known for his willingness to lend a hand and stay busy. For many years, Bob drove a plow truck on the side, and he was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus in Tewksbury.
Bob loved to cook and especially enjoyed bringing people together. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, hosting gatherings and celebrations, with the Fourth of July being one of his favorite occasions. His home was often a place where people could gather, enjoy good food, and make memories. Those who knew Bob will also remember his wonderfully sarcastic sense of humor, which was very much a part of his personality and often kept those around him laughing.
Above all, Bob was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by his children, Ami Ratta and her husband, Nick, of Londonderry, NH; Julia McMahon-Gizzi and her wife, Nicole, of Londonderry, NH; Melissa Gray and her husband, Josh, of Salem, NH; and Andrea Arbaiza of Tyngsboro; his grandchildren, Alex, Jake, Lorenzo, Madison, Savanna, and Brayden; his siblings, Debbie Jenkins and her fiancé, Dan Meehan, of North Conway, NH; Steven Gizzi of Chelmsford; Leah Storch and her husband, John, of Lake Worth, Florida; and Anthony Gizzi of Tewksbury; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to his calling hours on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, with a service to follow at 7 p.m.
On Friday morning, September 4, all are welcome to attend his graveside service at 11 a.m. at Tewksbury Cemetery.
