Ruth Elaine “Susie” Cone Woods, 68, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at New Testament Cemetery in the Queensland community, with Sister Charlotte Lawrence and Brother Alton Burris officiating.
Mrs. Woods was born May 14, 1958, in Clearwater, Florida, to the late Willard & Wydine Solomon Cone. She was a homemaker who dearly loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting yard sales and trying out new recipes. She was a member of New Testament Holiness Church.
She is survived by her husband, Danny Woods of Fitzgerald; daughter, Bonnie & Frank Helms of Fitzgerald; son, Chris & Ashley Woods of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Austin Troupe, Ally Woods, and Caleb Woods; a brother, Billy & Mary Hancock of St. Petersburg, Florida; sister, D’Onna & Morris Nettles of Nicholls, Georgia; and special friends, Carolyn & Freddie Cole of Fitzgerald; as well as several nieces and nephews.
