Thomas F. “Tommy” Tucker, 89, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Friday, August 28, 2026, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Monday, August 31, 2026, at Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Irwin County, Georgia, with Elder Paul Thomas officiating. Eulogies will be given by Tony Tucker and Alexandria Maluda. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday.
Mr. Tucker was born November 1, 1936, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Walton & Nellie Mixon Tucker. He was a 1954 graduate of Irwin County High School. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War Era. Mr. Tucker returned home and began farming. He cruised timber for Del-Cook for many years. He later retired from the Irwin County Board of Commissioners as Road Superintendent. Mr. Tucker was an avid musician, playing guitar and singing were favorite pastimes. He was also an accomplished woodworker and crafted many items for friends and family. He was a member and deacon of Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Frances Toms Tucker of Irwin County; son, Tony Tucker & Robbin of Camilla; daughters, Mindy Tucker Cevera & Nick of St. Augustine, Florida and Sheri Tucker Rhodes & Jeff of Irwin County; grandchildren: Brett Tucker & Janna, Matthew Tucker & Madeline, Brooks Tucker, Michael Cevera, Tucker Rhodes & Jess, and Alexandria Maluda & Mitchell; and great-grandchildren: Audrey Tucker, Elizabeth Tucker, Bo Tucker, Eloise Tucker and Adah Lynn Maluda. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Laura Beth Tucker; a brother, Kenneth Tucker; and three sisters: Margaret Nash, Georgia Lewis, and Sara Howell.
