
Albert “Steve” Cadwell, 62, of Tifton passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at home. A visitation will be held for Mr. Cadwell on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in the Chapel of Bowen- Donaldson from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Cadwell’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Cadwell, Rev. Steve Tucker, and Rev. Joseph Crumley officiating. Mr. Cadwell will be laid to rest at Liberty Baptist Cemetery following the service.
The deacons of Liberty Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers, and honorary pallbearers will be the Tifton Gideon Camp.
Born on June 29, 1964, in Eastman Georgia, Steve was the son of Albert Gary Cadwell and the late Ouida Faye Cadwell. He was preceded in death by his mother, father-in-law, Harry Brewer, and brother-in-law, Ronnie Hall.
Steve was a member of the Deacon Board of Liberty Baptist Church for 32 years, and a long time Gideon of the Tifton Gideon Camp. After graduating from high school, Steve joined the United States Army. After returning home to Tifton, he worked at Tifton Aluminum for 25 years; then worked at Elixir Industries. Steve then found his dream job at Kelley Manufacturing Company where he was a purchasing agent. He truly loved his work family and was so proud to work for KMC.
If you knew Steve, you know he loved sports of all kinds. He was a little league coach and referee for many years as well as a high school referee with Arbiter Sports for over 20 years. He also served as a volunteer firefighter with Harding Fire Department for over 20 years. He was the AWANA Commander at Liberty for 12 years and loved every minute of it. He had a gift of working with kids and was a big kid himself. He also taught several different classes over the years at Liberty.
Steve is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kimberly Joy Brewer Cadwell of Tifton and two children, Austin Steve Cadwell of Greensboro, Georgia, and Kayla Grace Cadwell of Tifton who were the center of his world. Steve is also survived by his father Gary Cadwell and sister Pamela Kay Hall both of Tifton; mother-in-law, Norma Brewer, sisters-in-law; Susan (Robby) Brinson, and Sherrie (Ronny) Franks as well as three aunts, Elaine (Curt) Peek, Carolyn Hinson, Jackie (Ken) Pinkney. He had several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who he loved as his own. They lovingly referred to him as “un-cool Steve.”
