Brian P. McCarthy of Norton, formerly of West Roxbury, and Mission Hill, passed away on August 17, 2026. Beloved son of the late Michael W. and Lydia (Carpenter) McCarthy. Dear brother of Lydia Ferrigan and her husband Mike of IL, the late Michael W. McCarthy and his wife MaryLou of North Attleboro. Devoted partner of Judy Blonda of Lynn. Loving uncle of Michael McCarthy of Cotuit, Christine Campbell of Norton, Sean McCarthy of Norton, Kara Jean Mason of Attleboro, Sean Ferrigan of IL, Sheila Ferrigan of CO, the late Timothy McCarthy, and Peter Ferrigan.
Brian was a 24-year employee of the MBTA as an Operator and Shifter for the Riverside Green Line. He was also an accomplished Finish Carpenter.
Visiting in the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury, on Tuesday, August 25th from 8:00am to 9:00am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in Boston’s Basilica Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Mission Church), 1545 Tremont St., Boston at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
