Alfonso DeSimone, age 55, of Medford passed away on Saturday, August 15th, at Massachusetts General Hospital of Boston. Raised and educated in Medford, he was the son of Raffaele DeSimone and the late Pasqualina (Clericuzio) DeSimone. Alfonso moved to Woburn after marrying, and lived there for 15 years before returning to Medford. Alfonso was known to all as a very hard worker. He was family oriented and had a big heart. If you were in need, Alfonso would give you the shirt off his back. When not working or spending time with family, he enjoyed fishing.
Alfonso was the devoted father of Bianca DeSimone, Michaela DeSimone, Brianna DeSimone and Daniella DeSimone, and the dear brother of Roberto DeSimone and his wife Erin, Barbara Lazzara and her husband Steve, and Marco DeSimone and his wife Cindy. He was the cherished uncle of Ella and Addison DeSimone, Domenic and Stefano Lazzara, and Giuliana and Samantha DeSimone, and is also survived by his former wife Andreia (Reis) DeSimone.
Visiting hours will be held in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Thursday, August 20th from 4 PM to 8 PM, and again on Friday, August 21st at 10 AM, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private.
