LUCAS, Robert Francis of Brookline passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, days before his 97th birthday. Beloved husband of the late Mary T. Lucas. Devoted father of Robert J. Lucas of Nelson, NH and Tara M. Lucas of West Roxbury, MA. Cherished son of the late Helen (Devine) Lucas and Francis Lucas. Robert is a U.S. Navy veteran who served in Norfolk, VA from 1953 to 1955 as an aircraft mechanic. After his enlistment, he joined the Brookline Police Department in 1956, retiring as a Lieutenant in the Patrol Division after 37 years of service. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence in Wayland, MA. Their compassion, kindness and devoted care brought great comfort to Bob and all who love him. The Parlin staff will always be remembered by the Lucas family with deep appreciation.
Visiting hours at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury, MA on Monday, August 24th from 9-11am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa of Avila Church at 11:30am.
