TEWKSBURY: Ernestine R. (Hudson) Mugford, age 88, a resident of Tewksbury for 52 years, died Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Willow Manor in Lowell.
She was the wife of Thomas Mugford, who died November 29, 1999.
Born in Chelsea on November 9, 1917, she was the daughter of the late John and Hilda (Burke) Hudson.
Mrs. Mugford was raised in Chelsea.
She attended Chelsea schools and graduated from Chelsea High School in 1936.
Mrs. Mugford resided in Chelsea and Everett until moving to Tewksbury in 1954.
While living in Chelsea, she attended the Mount Bellingham Church.
Prior to her retirement in 1994, she was employed as a salesperson for 14 years, by the former Jordan Marsh Company in Burlington.
She was a member of the Tewksbury Congregational Church and the Order of Eastern Star, Acacia Chapter # 80.
She is survived by one daughter; Elaine F. Alley and her husband Kenneth of Tewksbury; one son; Thomas L. Mugford of Goffstown, NH; six grandchildren; Russell S. Alley of Tewksbury, Sharon Gibson and her husband Dennis of Easton, Laura Alley of Dracut, Ryan C. Mugford of San Francisco, CA Taylor C. Mugford of Rockport and Anne S. Mugford of Manchester, NH; one great granddaughter; Carly R. Gibson of Easton; one sister; Jean W. Geldart and her husband Ross of Wakefield; also many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mugford was the sister of the late Roy G., John D., Lesley S. and James E. Hudson.
Calling hours Tuesday, September 26th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral service Wednesday, September 27th, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home.
