
Loretta (Lorry) D. Prentice passed away at the age of 92 on August 14, 2026 at Bear Mountain of Andover. She had lived there for the past two years after spending 70 happy years in her home in Tewksbury. Lorry was the wife of the late Gordon Prentice who died September 6, 1995. Lorry was born in Willimantic, CT on July 13, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Henry Couchon and Cecile Poitras (Jalbert) Couchon and sister of the late Alphonse and Raymond Jalbert and Adrienne Lorenc.
She graduated from St. Mary's School and the Windham High School in CT. Upon graduation, she went to work in the Purchasing Dept. at ElectroMotive Manufacturing Co. When she married Gordon, they lived in Wakefield, MA where Lorry worked for Parkwood Laminates and Shield's A.C.
Lorry was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who cherished family above all else. She is survived by her two daughters and their families: Linda Meuse and her partner John Endicott of Tewksbury and Sandra Meuse and her husband John Meuse of Arizona. Lorry was "Nan" to her four grandchildren: Allison Cennami and her husband Peter, Bryan Meuse and his wife MaryLeigh, Jessica Meuse, and John "Joey" Meuse and his wife Donna and "Cool Nan" to her great grandchildren: Ryan Meuse and Tina Cennami; Reagan, Natalie, and Devyn Meuse; and Anthony and Olivia Meuse.
Through the years, Lorry liked to play games and cards with her family. She enjoyed family and neighborhood gatherings. Lorry was an avid reader and she enjoyed buying and sending greeting cards to family and friends. Lorry taught Sunday School at the Methodist Church in Tewksbury, volunteered at the local Red Cross Blood Drives, and was a Camp Fire Girl leader for many years. Lorry was a great homemaker; she cooked, decorated cakes, and sewed clothing for herself and her daughters. She loved to play cards and have tea with her neighborhood friends.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service which is planned for 11:00 am on August 24, 2026 at Tewksbury Cemetery; 172 East Street; Tewksbury, MA. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Tewksbury Funeral Home.
