
Maureen (Lewis) Mallon, 65, of Wrentham passed away peacefully on August 13 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones, following a long illness. She was the beloved wife of Michael Schultz for the past 20 years.
Born in Zama, Japan, August 12,1961, the daughter of the late George and Elaine (Nunes) Lewis, Maureen was raised in Middletown, Rhode Island and had lived in Cumberland, Rhode Island for many years and in Wrentham for the past 4 years.
Maureen was a graduate of Middletown High School and Holy Cross College, where she earned a BA in Economics. She went on to receive two degrees from Northeastern University: an MBA from the School of Business and a J.D. from the School of Law. Maureen was admitted to the bar in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
She worked as an attorney for several law firms in Providence, Rhode Island, where her practice focused primarily on estate planning, preparing wills and other legal documents and probate matters. Most recently, Maureen worked as a Philanthropic Advisor for ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Childern’s Research Hospital.
Maureen enjoyed life to the fullest and especially loved planning events and get togethers with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, attending family gatherings and watching her grandchildren grow, meeting new people and making lasting friendships.
In addition to her husband, Maureen is survived by her children William “Billy” Mallon (Mallory), Lauren Lewis, Nathan Schultz and Zachary Schultz; her siblings, George Lewis, Dianne Catalano, Peter Lewis, Suzanne Hickman, and Karen Lewis.
Maureen has two grandchildren, Emerson Mallon and Theo Mallon.
She also leaves behind a large circle of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 25 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Franklin.
