Karen J. Sullivan of Roslindale passed away peacefully at home on August 16, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved daughter of Eugene and Viola Sullivan. Dear sister of Mark Sullivan and his wife Margaret, and their daughter Caitlin Sullivan. Loving companion of John Byrne with whom she shared 27 wonderful years.
Karen was born in Boston on February 26, 1962, and was a lifelong resident of Roslindale. She graduated from Fontbonne Academy. Karen continued her education at Suffolk University where she graduated with a degree in accounting.
She worked in the Office of the State Auditor for over 25 years until she retired in 2025. She enjoyed playing golf, following the Red Sox and trips to the seashore.
Karen will never be forgotten and live on through the family and partner she loved.
Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury, on Friday, August 21st at 10:00am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Name Church, 1689 Centre St., West Roxbury at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
