Obituary

Suzanne Irene (Duffy) Caron

Suzanne Irene (Duffy) Caron, 74, of Malden, known to everyone as "Suzie," passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026, surrounded by her family at Lowell General Hospital after a period of declining health.

Born in Malden on October 3, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Edward L. Duffy, Jr. and the late Florence (Daugelli) (DeAngelo) Duffy. She was raised in Malden and educated in the Malden public schools, graduating from Malden High School.

At the age of 40, Suzie enrolled at Mount Ida College to study funeral service, and after earning her degree she worked as a funeral service assistant in the Malden area. She later found a second calling in real estate, spending the end of her professional career as an agent on the North Shore, including several years with City Square Realty.

Suzie raised her four daughters in Chelsea, where she was a communicant of the former Our Lady of the Assumption Church. She poured herself into her girls' schools, lending a hand at bingo nights, bazaars, and anything else that needed doing, and she took a keen interest in local politics during her years in the city. Being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother was the role she treasured most, and her family remained the center of her world throughout her life.

She was a devoted reader of crime novels, rarely without a book close at hand, and she enjoyed her television just as much, from her beloved General Hospital to the many British series she discovered on BritBox. A loyal Patriots fan, Suzie looked forward all week to Sundays, when the family would gather around the game together. Those afternoons, filled with noise and laughter and the people she loved best, meant everything to her.

Suzie was the beloved mother of Renee Spinale and her husband Craig of Tewksbury, Nicole Marie Caron of Lynn, Joanna Oppedisano and her husband Brian of Tewksbury, and Paula Anne Caron of Haverhill. She was the cherished grandmother of ten, Samantha Roche and her husband Michael of Tewksbury, Michael Spinale, Haley Spinale, and Ava Spinale, all of Tewksbury, Nicholas Maisano, Jessica Maisano, and Anthony Maisano, all of Lynn, and Paul Oppedisano, Lauren Oppedisano, and Steven Oppedisano, all of Tewksbury. She was the proud great-grandmother of Luca Roche and Nina Roche of Tewksbury. She also leaves her former husband and good friend, Paul Caron Jr. and his wife Karen Warren of Chelsea. She was the sister of the late Edward L. Duffy, III, MD. Suzie is also survived by her much loved grand dogs, Brindle, Finn, Clyde, Avery, Gracie, Nutella, and Lexie.

Services and burial at Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden will be private. n lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Suzie I.
