Barbara “Babs” Cohen O’Brien passed away on August 14, 2026 after a brave battle with cancer. She leaves behind her sister Audrey Kalaf, brother-in-law Joe Kalaf, niece Alex Kalaf, and countless friends, many from the Boston music community that she was such a big part of. She loved all styles of music. She was a big supporter of local bands, loved going to shows, and could dance all night long with that beautiful smile on her face. She also had a great sense of humor. She loved a good laugh and always made others laugh. She will be terribly missed by so many, including dear friends she made in Ireland, who she bonded with through music, of course. The next time you hear your favorite song, think of Barbara.
