
Stanley Lamar Boone, 60, of Ocilla passed away Friday, August 14, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A funeral service will be held for Mr. Boone in the chapel of Bowen- Donaldson Home for Funerals on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Gordon Poole, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends and guests in the chapel of Bowen- Donaldson from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service. Mr. Boone will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens following the service.
Jarrett Cole, Justin Cole, Lance Griffin, Jacob Woodard, Jacob Jackson, Jeffery Webb, Landon McKinnon, Sr., and Adam Morgan will serve as pallbearers.
William Woodard and Dustin Brewer will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Boone was born in Yulee, Florida, to the late Clarence Lloyd Boone, Sr. and Vera Mae Stone Boone. In addition to his parents, Mr. Boone was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister-in-law; David M. and Mary Lou Boone, Donald L. Boone, and Clarence L. Boone, Jr., two sisters and three brother-in-laws; Vera S. Boone, Patricia B. and Daniel Frederick, Bufford Strawbridge, and Charlie Staines.
Mr. Boone was known to be a jack of all trades. Those who knew and loved him recognized his unwavering hard work. Outside of work, Mr. Boone enjoyed fishing, being a jokester, and spending time with his beloved family.
Left to cherish Mr. Boone’s memory and legacy are his wife, Mary L. Lee Boone of Ocilla, three daughters and one son-in-law; Susan Lee and Adam Morgan, Alma Lee, and Amanda Martin, all of Ocilla, two brothers; William Boone of Tifton, and Daniel Boone of Ocilla, five sisters and one brother-in-law; Shirley Strawbridge of Alabama, Diane Renae of Ocilla, Judy and Phillip Staines Sr. of Ray City, Brenda Staines of Lakeland, and Barbara Dorden of Maryland, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and an abundance of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
The family will accept flowers and memorial gifts.
