Gladstone Lionel Weekes of Jamaica Plain passed away on August 6, 2026. In 1971, Gladstone married Rose Monestime and became a member of a large family consisting of 15 brothers and sisters, plus numerous nieces and nephews. From 1977 to 2012 Gladstone proudly served in the Boston Fire Department, primarily at Engine 28 in Jamaica Plain. Gladstone is survived by his wife, Rose; son Brian and his wife Nadine; son Steven; granddaughters, Sabina and Mia; sister-in-law, Kathleen Nici (wife of the late Richard); nephew Richard Jr.; nieces, Karen and Laura Jean; and many grandnephews and grandnieces. He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Weekes; brothers, Richard and Robert Nici; and Robert's wife, Kathy Nici. Visitation and service will be held Wednesday, August 19, 4–7 PM at the Brady & Fallon Funeral Home, 10 Tower St, (Opp. Forest Hills MBTA Station) Jamaica Plain. Burial is private.
