Oxford – Richard P. Audette Sr., 63, of Oxford, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026, with family and friends by his side in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus after a courageous battle with cancer.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Debra A. (Rux) Audette; a son, Richard P. Audette Jr. of Oxford; his mother, Irene (Ducharme) Audette of Webster; his five brothers and sisters, Michelle Cenedella of Webster, Joanne Fancy of Peoria, AZ, Mark Audette of Spencer, David Audette of Webster and Robert Audette of Oxford; his two grandchildren, Devin and Vanessa Audette; a great grandchild, Elianna Audette and many nieces and nephews.
Richard was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his father, Paul Audette. He graduated from Worcester Vocational Technical High School where his trade was focused on carpentry. Upon graduating from high school Richard enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served our country. He served at Fort Bragg in North Carolina as an 82nd Airborne Ranger and also at Ft. Greely Alaska where he received a commendation for working construction in -50° Fahrenheit. He received an E-5 Sergeant rank at the time of his Honorable Discharge.
Richard worked for many years as a skilled carpenter before going to work for The Home Depot holding the position of District Installation Manager where he focused his day-to-day work with building contractors.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association and loved to do remodeling projects around the house. Richard always loved to find the latest and best technology. He enjoyed listening to music, especially if it was classic rock from the 70’s and 80’s and he held a special place in his heart, for his cat Cali.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, August 16, from 12 to 2 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons – Henry Funeral Service Memorial Chapel 33 Ward St. Worcester. A prayer service will be held at 2 PM concluding with military honors.
