Obituary

Jean M. Reynolds was born on April 24, 1949, in Kingston, Jamaica. She peacefully transitioned
on August 7, 2026.

In 1969, Jean migrated to Boston, Massachusetts, with her sister, Hope Whyte. Both sisters
joined their mother, Marilyn Whyte and Jean quickly found employment at John Hancock
Insurance Company. Jean stayed at this company for 25 years. While there, Jean became a
respected and diligent secretary.

In 1994, Jean moved to Altamonte Springs, Florida. Where she resided with her husband
Wesley, and daughter, Tanya. While in Florida, she was employed with Insurance by Ken
Brown, and over the years, she made lasting connections. On October 18, 2007, Jean’s husband,
Wesley Reynolds passed away. This event prompted Jean to return to Boston.

Jean practiced kindness and was a gentle spirit. Jean was someone who valued personal
relationships with her family and friends. Jean is survived by her daughter Tanya Reynolds, son
in “love,” Steven Abrams, and her grandson, Wesley. Jean is survived by four siblings, Lloyd
Whyte, Hope Whyte, Ian Whyte, and Monica Gabbidon. Along with many beloved nieces,
nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing at Roxbury Presbyterian Church, 328
Warren Street, Boston, MA, on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.,
followed by a religious service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

- Burial will be at the Oak Lawn Cemetery, 427 Cummins Highway, Boston, MA.
- Repast will be at Roxbury Presbyterian Church at 1:00 p.m.
