Obituary

Paul S. Correia, 51, of Henderson, Nevada, formerly of Dartmouth, died September 19, 2006 at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas after a brief battle with cancer. He was the husband of Ann M. (Clattenburg) Correia.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Ronald and Florence (Widuch) Correia of Dartmouth, he lived in Henderson for the past 13 years.
Mr. Correia served in the U.S Air Force from 1976 to 1996, serving for most of his career as an electronics weapons officer in the F4-G Wild Weasel aircraft, retiring as Lieutenant Colonel. After his retirement, he was employed as a Senior Systems Analyst at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas.
He was a 1972 graduate of Dartmouth High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Lowell in 1976 and a masters degree in International Relations from Salve Regina College. He also graduated from Fighter Weapons School at Nellis Air Force Base in 1984 and from the Newport Naval War College in 1991.
Survivors include his wife; his parents; two children, Lauren and Steven Correia, both of Henderson; a sister, Nancy Lally, and her husband Richard, of Acushnet; and a niece, Kendra Evangelho of Fairhaven.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM in St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
