Philip J. Dooley Jr., 80, died Friday at the Brockton Hospital in Brockton after a short period of failing health. He was the husband of 57 years of Patricia L. (Hubble) Dooley. Born in Boston, he was a graduate of Stoughton Schools, Class of 1944. He was a resident of Easton since 1952. Mr. Dooley was the owner and truck driver of P. Dooley of N. Easton Trucking for over 60 years. He worked for Boston Sand & Gravel until the 1960’s and then worked for AA Will in Canton until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of Teamsters Local 653 in Brockton. Mr. Dooley was the past Vice President of the Turtle Club in Easton. In his free time, he enjoyed collecting classic car models and traveling to Maine.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Patricia Rollins-Wayne and her husband David Wayne of Carver. He was the brother of Marion V. Pearse of Holbrook and the late Francis X. Dooley. He was the grandfather of Philip W. Rollins of Easton. He is also survived by his former son in law Gregory F. Rollins of Easton.
Funeral Service will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, September 26 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Monday 4-7 PM. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Philip’s name may be made to the MSPCA, 1300 W. Elm St. Ext., Brockton, 02301.
