Mr. Robert B. Smith, Jr., a longtime resident of Andover and beloved husband of 56 years of Sally A. (Jacquard) Smith, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. He was 74 years old.
Born in Malden, Massachusetts, he was the oldest of fifteen children born to Robert B. and Sylvia R. (Reeves) Smith. Robert was a Carpenter with Local 328 for many years.
In his spare time Robert enjoyed traveling with his wife, especially on their motorcycle. They visited many National Parks across the country. He also enjoyed playing golf. Robert will be dearly missed.
Besides his beloved wife, Sally, Robert is survived by his loving children; Robert Smith and his companion Cheryl Laliberty of Lawrence, Daryl Smith and his companion Jen Berry of Lawrence and Jacqueline and her husband Joe Capelo of Tewksbury, grandchildren; Dakota Smith and Antonio, Olivia and Sophia Capelo, siblings; Larry, Reggie, Albert, Rosemarie, Eileen, Richard, Kathleen, Rory, Jeanne and Eddie and many nieces and nephews. Robert was also the brother of the late Johnny, David, Paul and Kenny.
Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 4 to 7 PM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend.
