Obituary

LOWELL—Walter Thomas Sullivan, 70 years old, a longtime resident of Lowell and Nashua, died Thursday September 21st at Saints Medical Center, after a brief illness, surrounded by family and close friends.

He was born in Lowell, on May 7, 1936, a son of the late Joseph E. and Helen M. (Reynolds) Sullivan. He was a graduate of Keith Academy, Cranwell Prep School, and Boston College. He served overseas in the United States Army.

Mr. Sullivan had been employed as a Sales Representative for the family business, Sullivan Brothers Printers. He was a former Director for the New England Patriots for several years. More recently, he worked as a Consultant for Bechtel. He was known for his infectious personality, and was filled with love and laughter for all.

Surviving him his five children: Naomi S. and David Callender, of Las Vegas, NV; Helen M. Sullivan, of Anaheim, CA; Kate M. and Daniel Critchett, of Redondo Beach, CA; Monica E.S., and Alan Cody, of Tarzana, CA; and Michael Walter and Teresa Sullivan, of South Boston; eight grandchildren: Nathan, Liam, and Grace Critchett; Garret and Olivia Cody; and Christopher, Caitlin and Teagan Sullivan; three sisters and one brother-in-law: Margaret and James Shannon, of Lowell; Helen McNamee, of Lowell; and Monica O’Hare, of Warwick, RI; two brothers and four sisters-in-law: Joseph E. and Genevieve Sullivan, of Lowell; William H. and Peggy Ann Sullivan, of Falmouth; Rita Sullivan, of Centerville; and Betty Sullivan, of Lowell; his former wife: Naomi (Rousseau) Sullivan, of Lowell; also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was the grandfather of the late Molly and Aisling Critchett; and brother of the late Thomas R. Sullivan, Mary H. Sullivan, and James H. Sullivan.

Friends may call from 3 until 8 PM on Monday, September 25th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). His Funeral Mass to be offered at 11 AM on Tuesday September 26th at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Brent Leahey Team, Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk; 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor; Boston, MA 02445-9924.
