Jeffrey B. McCabe, age 64, a resident of Tewksbury for over 30 years, formerly of Burlington, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from complications of Parkinson’s Disease.
He was the beloved husband of Denise M. (Faria) McCabe, his partner and best friend for 45 years. Together, they recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary.
Born in Winchester on July 20, 1962, he was the son of the late John W. McCabe and the late Marguerite E. (Derro) McCabe.
Jeff attended Burlington schools and graduated from Burlington High School in 1980. Following high school, he continued his education at UMass Boston graduating in 1987 with a Bachelor’s Degree.
Prior to his illness, he was self employed and worked installing window treatments for several area interior designers and decorators. He enjoyed fixing and repairing things and had a natural talent for it. Whether at work or at home, he could almost always find a way to make something work again.
In his spare time, he loved freshwater fishing, playing poker with friends, visiting arcades, playing frisbee, following NASCAR racing, and tinkering on home projects.
Jeff was a devoted father who found his greatest fulfillment in raising his children. As the primary stay-at-home parent, he was a constant source of patience, love, and a sense of fun throughout their lives. A kid at heart, he enjoyed spending time outdoors with them, riding bikes, playing, and taking part in the activities they loved. He took great pride in being present for his children and creating lasting memories together.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Rachael K. McCabe, of Quincy, MA and Christopher J. McCabe and his wife Katrina, of Vienna, VA: his sister, Kimberly Musto and her husband John, of Boxborough, MA: two brothers, Gregory McCabe and his wife Linda, of Manchester, NH and Stephen McCabe and his wife Gail, of Chelmsford, MA. He leaves several nieces, nephews, extended family members, Denise’s family and many friends.
Calling hours are Wednesday, August 5, from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, immediately followed by a remembrance service to be held in the funeral home. Services will conclude with interment at Lowell Cemetery, 77 Knapp Avenue, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation at www.parkinson.org
