LACONIA ---- George Alexander Davison, Jr., of School Street, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
George was born on October 17, 1949, in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of the late George A. Davison, Sr., and Benice (MacArthur) Davison. He grew up in Arlington, Massachusetts, and graduated from the New Hampshire Vocational-Technical College in 1970.
George proudly served the City of Laconia as a police officer until his retirement in 1978. He was a dedicated member of the New Hampshire Association of Retired Law Enforcement Officers. After retiring from law enforcement, George continued serving his community in a variety of ways. He concluded his career as a bus driver for the Taylor Community, where he was known for his kindness, reliability, and easy sense of humor.
George volunteered for the American Red Cross for many years, offering his time and
compassion to support others in need. Throughout his working life, he held many roles, but each one shared a common thread: George was always a people-person. His compassion, patience, and steady presence made a positive impact on everyone he met.
George is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Donna Marie (Williams) Davison; his son, George A. Davison III, and his wife Gloria; his daughter, Bethany A. Wieczorek, and her husband Jeffrey; and his beloved granddaughters, Hannah and Amelia Wieczorek, and Lillie Davison. He is further survived by six nieces and three nephews. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his sisters Joan Alex Quinlan and Judith Ann Morin.
George cherished his granddaughters deeply. Whether it was sharing stories, offering gentle guidance, or simply enjoying their company, he found great joy in watching them grow. His pride in Hannah, Amelia, and Lillie was unmistakable, and the love he held for them will remain a lasting part of his legacy.
