It is with sadness in our hearts and cherished memories that we celebrate the beautiful life of Lugie Viel, who peacefully passed away on July 22, 2026, at the age of 74.
Born on June 3, 1952, in Jérémie, Haiti, Lugie lived life with heart, humor, and an unforgettable spirit. She was proud of her Haitian roots and carried them with grace wherever life took her. If you knew Lugie, you knew there was rarely a dull moment. She had a strong and bold personality, a wonderful sense of humor, and a laugh that could brighten anyone's day. Lugie was never afraid to speak her mind and share how she felt, always bringing her honesty, confidence, and unique sense of humor to every conversation. She loved to dance, loved to laugh, and had a special gift for bringing smiles to the people around her. She also had a love for music, fast cars, and the thrill of being behind the wheel. Whether she was telling a funny story, sharing a joke, enjoying her favorite songs, or taking a drive, Lugie lived life with excitement, passion, and joy.
Lugie shared 16 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Pierre Bonhomme. Together they built a life filled with love, companionship, laughter, and treasured memories. She was the stepmother of Michelle Bonhomme and step-grandmother of Jenniah Cammarata.
Lugie is lovingly survived by her husband, Pierre Bonhomme; her siblings, Ignace Viel, Paulette Millien, Olga Viel, Marie Sulvenique Viel, Rose Rayonne Viel, and Jean Hercule Viel; her stepdaughter, Michelle Bonhomme; her step-granddaughter, Jenniah Cammarata; and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and cherished as if they were her own children. Her love, guidance, and unwavering support left an everlasting mark on each of their lives.
For 31 years, Lugie dedicated herself to serving others at Lahey Clinic. She was known for her compassion, strong work ethic, and genuine kindness. Coworkers appreciated not only her dedication but also the warmth, humor, and positivity she brought to those around her each day.
More than anything, Lugie will be remembered for the way she made people feel. She loved deeply, laughed often, and lived with joy. Her kindness was matched by her vibrant personality, her honesty, and her ability to make every room feel a little brighter simply by being in it.
While our hearts are heavy, we choose to remember Lugie with smiles, laughter, and joyful recognition of the many wonderful memories she gave us. Her joyful spirit, generous heart, and love for life will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
Though she will be deeply missed, her laughter will echo in our memories, her love will remain in our hearts, and her spirit will live on through the countless lives she touched.
May she rest in eternal peace.
