MEREDITH ---- Bruce C. Stacey, 79, passed away at his home with family by his side, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
Bruce was born on April 1, 1947, in Newton, MA, the son of Edward H. Stacey and Dora (Collomb) Stacey. He grew up in Arlington and then Lexington, MA. He attended Northeastern University where he graduated with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Computer Science.
He served in the National Guard for five years as a radio operator. After graduating, he began working at Raytheon as an electrical engineer, where he spent the rest of his career. His work included work on the ground portions of defensive missile projects such Patriot and SLAMRAAM.
In his personal life, Bruce enjoyed ham radio, boating, wind surfing and sailing, scuba diving, and hiking, including all of the 4,000-footers in NH, as well as contra dancing. It was at a lesson for a traditional Swedish folk dance where he met his future wife, Linda.
The two were married at the Martha Mary Chapel in Sudbury, Massachusetts on June 17, 1984 and moved to Billerica, Massachusetts. The couple welcomed their daughter Sarah to the world in 1987.
Bruce enjoyed volunteering wherever he could use his skills, serving on the audio/visual team at his church and helping at the associated church school with many projects. Bruce was a caring person who always wanted to help others wherever he could. His skills and experience meant that he was able to fix many things, and he always carried tools with him, in case he found something that he was able to fix.
The family split their time between Billerica and Meredith, New Hampshire where they enjoyed time spent boating, swimming, and crafting.
After retirement, Bruce and Linda moved to Meredith full time where the pair enjoyed their time in the peaceful air of the Lakes Region.
Bruce passed away on July 21, 2026 in the company of family and was interred in the family plot in Maplewood Cemetery in Parsonsfield, Maine.
Bruce leaves behind his loving wife Linda Barrows-Stacey, his daughter Sarah (Robert) Boismier of Billerica, MA, brother Allen Stacey, Hyde Park, NY, and sister Cyndi (Steve) Bailey of New London, NH. Along with his parents, Bruce is predeceased by his sister-in-law Faye Stacey and his aunt Marion Stacey.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 29 at 3:00 PM at the Laconia Seventh-day Adventist Church, 241 Province Street, Laconia, NH.
Family graveside services will be held at Maplewood Cemetery, Parsonfield, Maine.
