Kathleen “Kathy” (McDonough) Hines of West Roxbury, passed away on July 26, 2026. Beloved wife of the late David J. Hines, Jr. Loving mother of David J. Hines III and his wife Casey of West Bridgewater, Patrick Hines and his wife Bridy of Roslindale, and Erin Menard and her husband Brian of Franklin. Cherished GG of Natalie, Flynn, and Maeve Hines, and Liam, Emma, and Avery Menard. Beloved sister of Patricia Mulhern of West Roxbury, Mary Jane McDonough of South Dennis, John McDonough and his wife Patricia of West Roxbury, Kevin McDonough of West Roxbury, Leo McDonough and his wife Clare of NY, Sheila Magrath and her husband James of Medfield, Thomas McDonough and his wife Patricia of West Roxbury, and Albert McDonough of West Roxbury. Kathy is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Kathy grew up in Forest Hills the second oldest of nine children, to the late Mary and Albert McDonough. Kathy moved to San Francisco at the age of 20, returned to Boston and graduated from Mass Bay with a degree in Secretarial Arts which took her to the office of Congressman Moakley in Washington, D.C. and several prominent Boston Law firms throughout her forty plus year career. Kathy and her late husband David lived and raised their family in West Roxbury for over forty years. She was a proud member of the Holy Name Bernardines, a hockey mom, a supporter of the arts, an avid reader, a relentless Jeopardy fan, and most importantly to her, the best GG, Mom, sister and friend one could ask for.
Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 4-8pm, at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street, WEST ROXBURY, MA. 02132. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday August 3, 2026, at 11am at the Holy Name Church, 1689 Centre Street, West Roxbury. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery.
