Catherine E. Keller, 90, of South Boston died peacefully on July 21st, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on December 22nd, 1935, to the late Mary (Gibbon’s) and Patrick Kennedy. She is predeceased by her husband, Edward Keller, brother Patrick Kennedy, sister Mary Hodges.
She is survived by her children, Susan, Frank, Anthony, Karen, David and Kathleen Keller of South Boston. And best friend and sister Winifred Coleman. She was the cherished grandmother of Andria, Blake, Lacey, Courtney, Nicole and David and proud great grandmother of Avannah, Amiyah, Khayden, Kyree and Matthew. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Catherine was a true daughter of South Boston. She loved spending time at Castle Island, watching the planes, lunch at Sullivans or picnics with her family and friends. She had a special fondness for all animals especially cats, she never met an animal that she did not love or they did not love her. Catherine was a devote Catholic and longtime parishioner of Saint Brigid Parish, where she attended daily mass. When she was not able to attend mass she would view the mass on the Catholic Network and participate in the daily rosary.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday July 31st at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Brigid Church 841 East Broadway, South Boston. Family and friends invited to attend.
