Jessica L. Dearth, 81, of Springfield, NH, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, NH. She was born on July 12, 1945, in Windham, NH, the daughter of the late William and Estella (Wentworth) Scott.
Jessica, affectionately known as “Jesse” to those who knew and loved her, dedicated much of her life to being a homemaker. She found happiness in the simple comforts of home, where she enjoyed tending to her many plants, decorating for each season, and spending time with family. She cherished quiet moments at home with a good word search.
Jesse will also be fondly remembered for her beloved pug, Rosie, who brought her years of faithful companionship and preceded her in death. Her family will forever treasure her famous homemade “nuts and bolts” recipe, a holiday tradition she lovingly prepared and shared with those she loved each year, ensuring everyone left with a container to enjoy.
She is survived by her two daughters, Diana Griffin and her partner, Keith, of Derry, NH, and Jennifer Dion of Newbury, NH; her son, Spencer Dearth of Harrisburg, PA; her granddaughter, Kellie Griffin and her partner, Reed; her grandson, David Griffin and his partner, Izzy; as well as several extended family members and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Jesse was predeceased by her husband, Wayland H. Dearth; her son-in-law, Gary Dion; and her beloved pug, Rosie. She also was predeceased by three sisters, Pearl Sheedy, Janet Vallante, Janice Morris and a brother, James Scott.
