
Cosmo Vinciguerra passed away at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Thursday, July 23, surrounded by his loving family. He was 94. Born and raised in Gaeta, Italy, he was the son of the late Antonio and Maria Concetta (Martzullo) Vinciguerra.
Cosmo came to the United States at the age of 20. He lived in Jamaica Plain and East Boston until eventually settling in Medford, where he and his wife, Maria, raised their family. Cosmo owned and operated a successful beauty salon in Medford. Cosmo enjoyed a 40 year career at Vinci’s Beauty Salon until his retirement. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoyed the company of his many friends, visiting the race track from time to time and playing cards at the Italian coffee shop.
The beloved husband of Maria (Capasso) Vinciguerra, he was a devoted father to Anthony Vinciguerra and his wife Joanne. He was a loving grandfather to Jessica Vinciguerra and Anthony Michael Vinciguerra. He was the dear brother to Maria Capobianco and the late Salvatore, Anna, Ida, and Damiano Vinciguerra.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Tuesday morning, July 28th from 9-10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in Sacred Hearts Church, 297 Main Street, Malden at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
