Carolyn F. (Price) Hashem, 84, of Saugus, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026, after a courageous battle with lung disease.
Born on December 4, 1941, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Carolyn was the daughter of the late George and Frances (Cuthbert) Price. She was raised in Saugus, graduated from Saugus High School with the Class of 1959, earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and later received her master’s degree from Salem State College.
Carolyn began her career as a mathematics teacher, teaching at both Saugus High School and Saugus Junior High School. After several years in the classroom, she chose to leave teaching to devote herself to raising her children and supporting her family. She embraced her role as a homemaker with pride, creating a home filled with love, encouragement, and unwavering support.
On August 29, 1963, Carolyn married the love of her life, Thomas C. Hashem. Together they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage until Tom's passing in December 2025. They built a life centered on family and raised two children, Michael C. Hashem and Pamela L. (Hashem) LeBlanc.
Family was always Carolyn's greatest priority. She rarely missed one of her children's games or school events and was the steady anchor of the Hashem family. She and Tom also treasured the lifelong friendships they shared with William and Carol Cox, enjoying many vacations and countless memories together over the years. Carolyn especially loved spending time with family and friends at their camp in New Hampshire, where many of those memories were made. She was also a devoted Disney fan and looked forward to every trip to Walt Disney World, where she found as much joy as her children.
Carolyn is survived by her brother, Alan Price of Hawaii; her son, Michael Hashem and his wife, Gail, of Saugus; and her daughter, Pamela LeBlanc and her husband, Mark, of Saugus. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Matt LeBlanc, Allison LeBlanc, Mikayla Hashem, Rachel Hashem, and Kaitlyn Hashem, all of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.
In accordance with Carolyn's wishes, there will be no services.
Carolyn will be remembered for her intelligence, quiet strength, generous heart, and unconditional love for her family. She was the person everyone could count on and the one who was always there with encouragement, wisdom, and steadfast support. Her love and the example she set will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
