Obituary



Charles J. “Chuck” Moitoza, Jr, age 59, of Norton, passed away in the presence of his loving family on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Donna M. (Waite) Moitoza, to whom he was wed for thirty-four years.

Born in Taunton, MA on May 7, 1967, he was a loving son of Charles J. Moitoza, Sr. of Taunton and the late Nancy A. (Silvia) Moitoza.

Chuck grew up and was educated in the City of Taunton. He was a 1985 graduate of Taunton High School, where he played sports and in his senior year served as a captain of the football team. After starting his own family, Chuck returned to his studies and graduated with an associate’s degree from Bristol Community College.

For over twenty years, Chuck was employed as a warehouse manager when Sysco was based in Norton. He later worked in the same capacity at Quality Beverage in Taunton and most recently at the Home Depot warehouse in Norton.

A resident of Norton for the past thirty-five years, Chuck was a well-known in the community and actively involved in town affairs. He served as a former Norton Selectman for eight years and coached both Pop Warner and high school football. He also coached high school football in Canton and while his children were growing up in Norton, coached soccer and baseball.

Chuck loved and treasured his family more than anything else in the world. He was an avid golfer, who enjoyed his bourbon and cigars and watching anything to do on the subject of sports.

In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his devoted children, Shannon Pina and her husband Ruark of Norton, Brittany Moitoza and her partner Johnny Stroud of Georgia, Cameron Moitoza and his wife Alexandra of Taunton, Evan Moitoza, Sr. and his wife Amanda of Texas, Dawson Moitoza of Norton, Francisco Escribano of New Hampshire, Jazmyn Moitoza of Norton and Antoni Escribano of Norton. He was the cherished grandfather of Marquise, Rowen, Mila, Noah, Gavin, Daxton, Vincente and Evan, Jr. He was the dear brother of Richard Moitoza and his wife Lisa of Taunton, Rosemary Marques and her husband Tony of Taunton, the much-loved son-in-law of Annette Waite of Norton and the late Russell Waite and the brother-in-law of Karen Waite of Norton and Russell Waite of Texas. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, August 16th from 1:00-4:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.

Words of remembrance will be held on Sunday August 16th at 3:30 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Chuck’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to Compassionate Care ALS, 17 Chase Road, Falmouth, MA 02540.
