Ann Roberts Thomas, age 86, of Ocilla, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, at her home surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Paul Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, with Elder Ray Roberts, officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Irwin County on October 2, 1939, to the late Irvin and Edna Griffin Roberts. She was a 1957 graduate of Irwin County High School and attended Atlanta School of Business. She worked as a secretary in the law office of Rogers and McCranie for over 40 years, a job she dearly loved. After retiring she could often be found at the ten o’clock coffee break talking to friends and co-workers just catching up on the news in town. She was an active and very faithful member of Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by Jimmy Thomas, the love of her life. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in June. Not only was she a loving wife, but she was the devoted mother of two daughters Clarissa Martin (Alan) and Stacey Mixon Griffin (Sandy), of Ocilla. She loved her family dearly but her greatest blessings were her grandchildren Jake Hurt (Casey), Ashley Hurt, Missy Paris, Nathan Martin (Alecia), Cody Mixon (Chelsey), Cole Mixon and Sandifer Griffin; great-grandchildren Judd Lavender, Cohen and Josie Ann Mixon, Landon, Griffin and Bentley Paris, Bryce and Daniel Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Thomas; her brother, Kyle Roberts, and her granddaughter, Devin Lavender.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Carolyn Brown, her best friend since grade school and to Eternal Faith Hospice Care personnel for their compassion and support.
