LIMERICK- Gayle Elizabeth Brown, 67, of Limerick, Maine, passed away unexpectedly at her home on July 13, 2026, due to health complications.
Born on April 1,1959, in Dublin, California, Gayle was the daughter of George Glavor and Sylvia Jordan. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brothers, George Glavor and Keith Glavor. From an early age, Gayle embraced life with a fearless spirit. She loved horses and spent much of her youth riding and competing in horse shows. Those who knew her back then remember her as adventurous, always smiling, laughing, and bringing fun wherever she went.
In the late 1980s, early 1990s, Gayle built a successful career in the mortgage industry in the San Francisco Bay Area. Love took her from California to Michigan before eventually leading her on a cross country road trip to Maine, where she spent the rest of her years. Along the way, she experienced love, loss, and new beginnings, raising her three daughters.
Gayle faced many challenges throughout her life, including struggles with both her mental and physical health. While those challenges shaped much of her journey, they never diminished the love she carried for her daughters or the immense pride she felt in the women they became. She was also incredibly proud of her grandchildren.
Even as her health declined, nothing could brighten Gayle’s day quite like hearing a favorite country song. Her daughters will always remember her swaying beside her old-school boombox, stacks of CDs close by, singing along to Trisha Yearwood, Dixie Chicks, and so many other country artists. Those simple moments are now among their most treasured memories.
As her daughters sorted through hundreds of photographs after her passing, they discovered pieces of a life they had never fully known—a young woman who lived boldly, laughed often, and embraced adventure. Those photographs revealed chapters of her story they had never seen, making them appreciate even more the full life she lived beyond the role of “Mom.”
Gayle will be remembered for her resilience, adventurous spirit, infectious smile, and the love she held for her family. Though her journey was not always easy, she faced it with determination and left behind memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughters, Shannon Jacobson, Megan Brown, and Lindsey Brown; her cherished grandchildren, Mia, Everett, Tyson, Owen, Elias, and Aleah; and extended family members and friends.
She will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.
