
CAULFIELD, Peter F. of West Roxbury, passed away on July 6, 2026, at the age of 85. Devoted husband of Nancy Rogers; father of Scott Caulfield; and stepfather of Ralph Hanrahan. Peter was a dedicated and loyal employee of the MSPCA, where he served for 40 years with compassion and commitment.
Born to Winifred (Joyce) and James Caulfield, Peter grew up in Boston's Mission Hill neighborhood. He attended Mass at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, affectionately known as "The Mission Church," throughout his life, remaining deeply committed to his faith.
Peter is survived by his brother, Gerard Caulfield; his sister, Virginia Yered; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Caulfield. Peter will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, gentle spirit, and lifelong love of animals. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome, and he was deeply loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 15th, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury. Funeral from the funeral home on Thursday, July 16th at 9a.m followed by the service at 10:00 a.m. and then Peter will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury.
