James Christopher Johnson, 54, of Omega passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026, at his residence. A visitation will be held for Mr. Johnson on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. He will be laid to rest at a later date.
Born April 28, 1972, in Tift County, Mr. Johnson was the son of Geraldine Howell Johnson of Omega and the late Alfred L. Johnson. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren. Known as “Peanut” to his friends and family, he loved to fish and hunt. He was self-employed in the construction business.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Johnson is survived by two daughters, Donna Claunch (Jason) of Omega and Ashlee Tripp (Joey Smith) of Molena; two brothers, Lee Johnson (Stacey) of Lenox and Kenneth Fletcher (Heather); two sisters, Nancy Strayer (Dale) of Omega and Freida Edwards (Frank) of Fitzgerald; and nine grandchildren.
