Winifred K. (Kennedy) Carty of Dedham formerly of Loughrea, County Galway, Ireland passed away September 20, 2006 at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale. She was 85. Mrs. Carty was born in Ireland and was the daughter of the late John and MaryAnne Kennedy.
Mrs. Carty worked as a Nurse in Healthcare for many years. She was a long time Dedham resident and a member of the St. Mary’s Church Sodality in Dedham.
She was the beloved wife of the late Patrick F. Carty. She was the devoted mother of Ellen Carty Cordry of Centerville, MaryAnne W. Carty of Westwood, Sheila Michalke of Mount Laurel, NJ, John P. Carty of Portsmouth, NH, Stephen Carty of Natick, Peter Carty of Peabody and Kathleen Tomasello of Norwood. She was the loving grandmother of William, Patrick and Gregory Scannell, Douglas and Alison Michalke, William, Benjamin and Samuel Tomasello and Siobhan, Derek and Joseph Carty.
Her funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Saturday at 8:00 AM. Her funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4-8 PM. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. Donations can be made to the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center, 1200 Centre St., Roslindale, MA 02131.
